Side-by-side & ATV riding

Bring the machines and ride Copper Country routes from a group-friendly basecamp.

The Twin Lakes area is a strong fit for ATV, ORV, and side-by-side groups because guests can plan around nearby designated routes, scenic overlooks, and long day rides, then come back to the lodge for parking, food, showers, and a place to relax together.

Check width, route type, and current maps

Michigan DNR distinguishes ORV trails maintained at 50 inches wide from ORV routes maintained at 72 inches wide. Side-by-side riders should confirm their machine width and use current DNR maps before choosing a route.

Know the license and trail permit rules

Many Michigan ORV rides require an ORV license, and state-designated ORV trails and scramble areas also require a trail permit. Guests should buy the right stickers before arriving or through an approved DNR channel.
